LOIS
From a community perspective, some of the biggest assets you possess is your local inventory. In the economic development world, inventory is referred to as available sites and buildings. It is important to know what sites are available for development and what buildings are available for sale/rent/lease in your community. It is equally important to be able to showcase available sites and buildings to the business development community. Location One Information Systems (LOIS) is a powerful GIS sites and buildings database tool. LOIS is a multi-state database that is widely used among site selectors and real estate consultants across the country. Your Sunflower Electric Economic Development team has purchased a license for LOIS to show the available inventory in our members’ service region and will partner with communities to post available properties. Here is a quick link to Sunflower’s LOIS profile. Contact a member of the Sunflower Electric Economic Development team if you would like to partner to get your properties listed.
What is expected from your community?
Your economic development staff or local volunteer should identify available sites and buildings in your community to be listed on LOIS. A collection of photos, available price of the property, and a physical address and description will be needed. Once properties are identified, contact a member of the Sunflower Electric Economic Development team and we will get started. Once the property is listed on LOIS, it is important to have your representative keep us informed of the status or changes so the property can be updated or removed once sold.
What can you expect from Sunflower Electric Economic Development?
Sunflower Electric Economic Development will have staff available to assist in posting available properties on LOIS. Sunflower will have an active LOIS profile available on our website for business and industry to see and will actively market the available inventory to researched targeted industries in our region.
